How To Qualify For Free Spay Neuter

Due to New Mexico’s Public Health Emergency and guidance provided by the State of New Mexico and the Center for Disease Control to minimize contact with others, SNAP is accepting applications BY MAIL ONLY until further notice.

Please read the following to see if you income qualify for SNAP – See HUD Guideline Table below. You MUST include income verification with your mail in application. To see what documents you will need refer to the Documents Table below.

Please download, print and fill out our ” Free Spay/Neuter Mail In Application” form from the menu. If you do not have access to a printer, please call us and we will mail you an application.

Guidelines for Free Spay/Neuter

To qualify for our free spay/ neuter program you MUST reside in one of the following towns: Berino, Buterfield, Chamberino,
Dona Ana, Fairacres, Garfield, La Mesa, LaUnion, Mesquite, Mesilla Park,
Midalgo, Organ, Radium Springs, Rincon, Rodey, Salem, San Miguel, San Pablo, San Ysidro, Santa Teresa, Tortugas and Vado.
For households that reside inside the city limits of Las Cruces, Anthony, Hatch, Mesilla, and Sunland Park, please use the application and instructions located at "Low Cost Mail In Application" on our menu
or call us at SNAP 575-624-9265 to see if you qualify for a Free spay neuter voucher.

Documents To Include With Application for Free Spay/Neuter

1. If you filed a Federal Tax Return make sure to include a copy of ONLY the pages that show you and/or your dependents and the Adjusted Gross Income (Line 8B). This is typically the first two pages. If you do not file a Tax Return, please make a copy of the following that apply to you and all members of your household: Award letter(s) from Social Security, SSI, SSD, W2 or pay stubs.
2. If you receive Food Stamps and/or TANF or HUD you will need to make a copy of the first page of your award letter and included them in your mail in. These pages must show how much you receive.
3. A copy of your utility bill with your name on it and your physical address. If you do not have a utility bill with your name on it, please make a copy of your car insurance or car registration that has your physical address on it.
4. A copy of your photo ID
Your signature is required on the application to certify you are the pet owner, the pet owner, the income you report is accurate and your physical address is correct.
